e:pV - Enabling Professional Support in the Voluntary Sector

e:pv is the pro bono practice area of Omega Alpha Limited, an e-business, training and strategy consultancy based in South West London and East Lancashire. We established e:pv as a means of coordinating our pro bono work and supporting other organisations in enabling professional support in the voluntary sector.

Enabling Professional Support in the Voluntary Sector is concerned with the following core areas:

e:pv[1] The commitment of Omega Alpha Limited and the preponderate network to Corporate Social Responsibility
e:pv[2] Facilitation and communication solutions delivery for voluntary organisations delivered through the internet, information technology and management strategy
e:pv[3] Facilitation and support for those organisations and campaigns which support voluntary, community and charitable organisations e.g. Business Community Connections, ProHelp and IT4Communities.
e:pv[4] Physical, economic and social regeneration within North West England and Greater London
e:pv[5] Development of best practice for professional support in the voluntary sector and as partners in Neighbourhood Renewal projects. We are active with this initiative in Greater London.
e:pv[6] Promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility and pro bono work to SMEs and small firms emphasizing business benefits through networks and better support infrastructure.

May 2001: View our letter to the FT (published) in response to Martin Wolf's anti-CSR article.
May 2001: Article about the OzCares (now rebranded as SouthernCares) project in New Zealand News UK.
July/August 2001: Project Management of the development of avenhamwalks.co.uk, a website to promote Avenham in Preston and help the regeneration of a deprived area of West Lancashire.
July to October 2001: Project Management of the Printworks stream of MAD 4 IT Day.
November 2001: Commerce Meets the Community event in Richmond upon Thames providing support and advice to local VCOs.
January to June 2002: Development of sustainable business-community relationships in North West England.
January 2002 onwards: Developing community information network projects - bringing communities and information together.

Through
e:pv, Omega Alpha is currently proactive with the following groups:

business community connections: bcc are a valued partner in working with local community and voluntary organisations in London. Consultation to Chief Executive level. 

ProHelp: Professional support for voluntary sector (London group and National Office. Development of website and commitment to two years pro bono IT/internet support).

Business in the Community: Proactive consultation from local offices to Director level. Development of strategies for attracting micro/SME members. Development of strategies re urban regeneration focusing on pro bono professional skills support.

IT4Communities: National IT volunteering programme. Consultation and support to Director and Board level.
